Phonogram and rights database for ZAPRAF
The first system of its kind in the region: a central database of phonograms and rights with transparent record-keeping and complete administration, recognised by IFPI.

Challenge
ZAPRAF manages the rights of phonogram producers. For royalties to reach the right rights holders, every phonogram needs an accurate, complete and verifiable record: who produced it, who holds the rights and in what share.
They needed a system that keeps all of this in one place, records every change, and runs the whole administration without retyping data from spreadsheets.

What we did
We developed a custom phonogram and rights database: records of phonograms, rights holders and shares, with a full history of every change. Member administration, request processing and reporting are built on top of it, so the entire operation runs from one application.
Alongside the system we built the ZAPRAF website and took over running the organisation's IT system.

Result
The system is the first of its kind in the region and is recognised by IFPI, the international organisation of the recording industry.
Every record of a phonogram and its rights is verifiable, and administration is handled in one place. We continue to maintain and develop the system as the organisation's needs change.
