Challenge

A record label sells physical releases, delivers music to radio stations and manages a large number of contracts with authors and performers, all at the same time. Each of these had its own flow of data and its own people running it.

The label needed solutions that follow these processes the way they actually happen: from buying a record in the web shop to downloading the digital copy, from releasing a new title to its arrival at radio stations, from signing a contract to its expiry.

What we did

We built a web shop for vinyl and CDs, connected to the WAND system so that product and order data stay in sync without manual entry, and a separate application where a customer uses the code supplied with the release to download the music in digital form. Codes are issued and tracked per release, so it is always clear what has been downloaded.

For radio stations we built an audio archive: new releases are published in one place and stations download them in a broadcast-ready format.

For the business side we built a contracts database that keeps track of active and expired contracts, together with the financial records tied to them.

Result

Sales, music delivery and contracts are run in systems built around the way the label works, instead of spreadsheets and manual records.

Customers get a digital copy with their physical release, radio stations have a single place for new releases, and the status of every contract and what follows from it is always known.
